The simple answer is that training is not supported by mentoring in most cases. A course in leadership does not make you a leader it can however make you a person who craves further knowledge which is good. The answer to promoting and creating more leadership is through a number of factors including knowledge and learning but it’s with mentoring on a day to day basis which I feel provides the best.
Potential can easily be stifled within structures as time is not allowed to mentor the rising stars of tomorrow. I have been lucky my life mentor that of Richard Kitson is a leading industry name but I’m also surrounded within PMCDE by so many leaders who all have different styles but have one common quality that of the need and determination to pass on their knowledge to others.
